Great records company are issuing a lot of quality bluegrass music on CD´s. We can hear a very good bluegrass music from small records, too. I am happy to get one of these CD to my hands.
This CD belongs to the family group from Disputanta in Virginia – The Abbels and it has been issued under the family copyright. The base of the records is created by : father Jack Abeel on guitar, mother Anne Abeel on bass, daughters Amanda McDaniel on rhythm guitar and Charity Zerull on vocals plus invated guests : Eddie Adcock on banjo, guitar, Ronnie Stewart on mandolin, fiddle, Pete Smith on dobro and Jim Hurst on guitar.
This album is interesting by the the perfect rhythmic, by instrumental work of Jack and dobro player Pete Smith, who is unknown in our country. Talented Ron Stewart is a really good member of this group. Banjo player Eddie should remember his group ,,Dixie Fried“ , where his wife Martha used to played and Missy Rains, by the way, producer of this album.
All four members of this group are presented vocally. The repertoare is created by  slow compositions, classical „Those Memories“, „Loggin´ Man“, country songs „Tennessee Flattop Box“, „Love At The Five and Dime“ and three originals. Jack has writen two instrumentals „Abbylooga“ and „Snowflakes and Diamonds“ and with his daughter Charity he has written „Long,Long Drive/Melanie´s Song“.
My favorit songs on this album are instrumental „Abbylooga“ witch is the good conection of ideas classic guitar and instrumental songs of the late 90´s.
Then I would like to pick out the ripness voice of Anne in „All I Can Is My Best“ and the woman rough creation of O´Bryant´s „Those Memories“.
I recommend this album and I am very happy to listen to the good guitar.
