Well, the month of bluegrass has ended and the season of festivals is in full action. If you don't know where to reach the bluegrass have a look at our calendar of concerts. You'll find here even some new MIDI files, new lyrics and articles. Just look around.

I decided to open my private archive of tabs and lyrics. Consequently, according to my free time I'll add it here. If you are looking for some tab or lyrics and you cannot find it in our archive, or on the net, send me mail and I promise, if I have it I send it to you. As well you can write to Zvonky with some requests, help, whatever even if you are band, or just the fan. And don't forget if you thing something is missing here just write send me a mail.

I told before, we think about editing paper version of Zvonky. We decided according to the requests mainly from the people they don't have the access to the internet. Its re-edition depends on the interest of you. That means, if you are interested in this send the mail with your postal address and to the field of subject write "Zvonky-printed version". So far it is just orientation, some kind of public survey. If we get enough interested people till the end of the summer, maybe even this year will be printed first number.

In Nove Zamky already for few weeks operate quite new, but perspective bluegrass band with the name Parnik (The Steamship). You can read about them in the notice about the regional bout of Strunobranie in Mojmirovce near Nitra among the articles on this site.

And in Poprad was set up new bluegrass band - Veget.

In Czech Republic was issued new CD of the legendary person of czech bluegrass Peter Kus recorded by the band of the dreams with the name of Famy (The Gossips). And something form other countries:
To all fans of Tony Trischka and his legendary Skyline. I found some terms of concerts of Skyline. That was why I contacted Tony. According to the mail, they play something sometimes, but only in fourth (Tony Trischka, Barry Mitterhof, Danny Weiss a Larry Cohen). It is not the revival of the band, but nobody knows whether they will play in whole their finery as before. So far after the break up of the band they record one compilation Tony Trischka & Skyline - Ticked Back: A Retrospektive, ( best of and two new songs ), which notice from Brano Zvolenksy you can find among the articles

Tony Trischka - banjo picker who influenced Bela Fleck and Tony Furtado, but even a lot of banjo pickers in our country, has again band with which recorded new CD Tony Trischka Band - Bend. It is the fusion of funky, jazz, rock and bluegrass, well all the things we know Tony for. I heard the demo and with some help you'll find here the notice not only of the CD but even the band in the compilation of Tony Trischka - banjo, Marco Accattatis - bass, Michael Amendola - tenor and sopr. Sax, Glenn Sherman - guitar and vocals a Grisha Alexiev - Drums.

If you want to talk about his new band go to http://imusic.com/  and you'll find chat room of Tony Trischka Band.

ACUTAB published the publication about the legend of bluegrass Sonyny Osborne. This publication included a lot of himself, but even a lots of tabs. It's the first publication from the serial of bluegrass legends.

According to the big success of internet direct talking with Sonny Osborne on the Ibluegrass during the banjo seminary ( May 1999) it will be repeated.

Scott Vestal ends his new project with Pinecastle, which should see the daylight around the end of this year. All the recordings took place in his own private studio.

Acutab prepares publication of the tabs of Adam Steffey from the times of playing with Allison Kraus and Union Station with tons of his tabs.

Mark O'Connor moved to San Diego. It's known, he recorded besides bluegrass CD's even CD's with classical music. His last CD "Fiddle concert for fiddle and orchestra #1" had great success. During the concert in Germany the audience applauded him 8 times back.

If you are interested in guitarist Danny Wise from previous Skyline, look at his homepage at http://www.rivint.com/music/rs2dw.htm. You'll fin there a lots to read, not only himself but even about his relationship to the art, about the compilation of Silk City (Mitterhoff, Weiss a Cohen), about that in 1997 he became the director of Fanwood Memorial Library  and much more about other bands and music in New Jersey
